Bobbinwinders Challenge 2023-2024 “Let’s get down to business” – The Challenge, as explained by Kathleen will be to feature a bag of yarn to be woven, and include an item purchased from a local small business. The bag will have enough yarn to make a scarf although the member can weave anything they want. The finished piece will include the piece and a brief note about the local business they used.

April 19, 2024 – Kathleen Waln — Melvin Hawkins Scholarship Presentation “Tangled Tapestries”.

Kathleen will discuss her classroom experiences at the Red Alder Retreat. Although she learned from tapestry artist Jeanne Walker and books (of course), she wanted to learn
some new techniques—Pulled Tapestry in particular. Kathleen will discuss these other workshops she has attended and give will present a mini tour of tapestry in general!

March 8, 2024 – Designing & Weaving Couture Cloth — Mini Workshop with Robin Spady. A variety of weave structures will be reviewed to add new dimensions to your weaving and let you take advantage of fun and exciting yarns.

January 19, 2024 – Beaded Buttons. Kathleen Waln will be teaching us how to make beaded buttons. There will be no lecture for this program. instead, we will start in on making these buttons right after the meeting break.

December 16,2023 – Holiday Luncheon and Auction. It’s time again for Bobbinwinders’ annual holiday potluck lunch and auction. This annual auction is the major fundraiser for the guild with 10% going to the Melvin Hawkins Education Fund.
